Following the last few years of disruption to the aviation industry, normal travel around New Zealand and overseas has resumed, and once again the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) is at the forefront of ensuring safe and secure skies for New Zealand. Our team of recruiters has been busy attracting and appointing a range of staff from frontline airport staff to senior leaders. We play a vital role in making sure the people we recruit maintain the high levels of competence, integrity and professionalism that defines CAA.


To enable the recruitment function to be deliver our service, collaborate, and remain responsive, we are creating three Recruitment Hubs across our main centres – Auckland, Wellington, and Central/South Island.


You will be joining us at a pivotal time as we build a Recruitment Hub in Wellington, comprising a Senior Advisor, Recruitment Advisor and Coordinator. Based at our National Headquarters in central Wellington, you will be at the heart of decision making.


As a Recruitment Advisor you will work closely with our hiring managers supporting them through the recruitment life cycle. You will have access to several fantastic systems including SuccessFactors, XRef, and various assessment tools. There is huge variety in the role as we support the six main airports and have offices in Wellington, Auckland, Christchurch and Queenstown. You’ll get great support, not only from our manager Claudia, but also your Coordinator and wider Recruitment team.


The structure of the Hub will mean that, over time, there will be opportunities to progress within the team and expand on your recruitment knowledge with learning opportunities,. We are growing as a team, both in size and capability, so you will be joining us at an ideal time.

We work in an environment where agility is key, so you will need a can-do attitude and the smarts to pick up a piece of work and run with it. Recruitment and talent-sourcing experience is a must, preferably from an in-house role.


You will have excellent planning skills, be able to anticipate potential risks and ensure the recruitment process remains at the highest standard. We are largely an operational organisation, so you will need to be able to work under pressure and have the ability to flex as demands change.


The salary band for this position goes from $81,165 to $112,939 with the mid-range being $99,322. Starting salaries will be based on knowledge, skills and experience the successful candidate brings to the role, and relativities both, within the immediate team and in the broader Authority for the same or similar roles.
