Position:
We require a technically excellent and highly motivated experienced Landfill Principal Engineer to oversee the design, construction, and operation of landfill sites. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of engineers and technicians in the planning and execution of landfill projects, ensuring that all work is carried out in compliance with regulations and standards, and maximizing efficiency and safety. You will be a vital part of the team and will be supporting the Director with the continued growth of ByrneLooby through successful tendering and project delivery. Key Accountabilities
Lead the design and construction of landfill sites, ensuring that all work is carried out in compliance with applicable regulations and standards.
- Oversee the operation of landfill sites, including waste management and environmental monitoring.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and technicians.
- Develop and implement safety plans and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all personnel.
- Develop and implement waste management plans to maximize efficiency and minimize environmental impact.
- Monitor and report on project progress, including budget and schedule performance, and identify and address issues as they arise.
- Manage relationships with stakeholders, including community members, to ensure that their concerns are addressed.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest landfill technologies and regulations, and incorporate them into project planning and implementation.
- Collaborate with government agencies, contractors, and engineers to obtain necessary permits and approvals for landfill projects.
Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, environmental science, or related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in landfill design, construction, and operation, including project management.
- Strong leadership and project management skills, with the ability to manage a team of engineers and technicians.
- Knowledge of applicable regulations and standards related to landfill design, construction, and operation.
- Familiarity with waste management best practices and emerging technologies.
- Experience in budget management and financial analysis.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
