The Product Manager provides strategic and clinical direction for medication management services products, company growth, improved product performance, and vendor alliances. This position is instrumental in developing innovative products that improve appropriate, effective, safe, and convenient medication use, achieve quality outcomes, and lower health care costs. The ideal candidate brings passion and creativity for creating best-in-class products that deliver user-centric designs that allow for workflow efficiency and delivering high quality care. The Product Manager should demonstrate solid product sensibilities, presentation skills, enthusiasm for communicating with others, and teamwork.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Serves as primary business analyst for clinical services and client implementation lead for new software program offerings to ensure that all client, operations, development, and business tasks are managed to the expected go live date
  • Analyzes planned software changes, assesses impacts to specific health plan clients, and ensures software development addresses the highest quality opportunities, mitigates the greatest risks, and is aligned to strategic business and technical goals
  • Writes detailed business requirements for approved Nexus, Genesys, or reporting initiatives
  • Serves as clinical business owner to the IT team to ensure that each set of requirements is built according to the acceptance criteria defined
  • Oversees all clinical services initiatives to ensure project plans are in place and deliverables are being met
  • Identifies and resolves technical, operational, and clinical problems across business units
  • Proposes innovative solutions to solve business problems, risks, and inefficiencies
  • Handles client-specific development requests and prioritizes solutions with development teams
  • Presents to scope review meetings with client for each planned release, detailing the changes and impacts to client
  • Drives continuous improvement in delivery practices and quality outputs
  • Ensures satisfactory levels of internal customer and stakeholder engagement and communications
  • Works collaboratively across the enterprise to support program implementation and performance

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in a client facing role
  • 3+ years of healthcare industry experience (e.g., pharmacy, health plan, PBM)
  • Professional experience working with analytics solutions
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, including Excel and PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience working with analytics solutions
  • Business or systems analysis experience
  • Experience with understanding technical software documentation and translating into business and/or operational language
  • Experience with Medicaid, Medicare and commercial payers
  • PBM or pharmacy experience
  • Familiarity with Nexus pharmacy software
  • Proven team player that can independently and successfully manage multiple activities, assess priorities and achieve solutions under tight deadlines

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
