We are looking for a Ethics & Compliance Business Partner (Eastern Europe, Austria & Switzerland) who is agile, analytical and solution-oriented to join our Ethics & Compliance team. The position can be based in our office in Vienna, Austria or in Warsaw, Poland or in Athens, Greece or in Monheim, Germany.


About the role

This role in Eastern Europe, Switzerland, and Austria oversees the Ethics & Compliance (E&C) program, managing risks related to bribery, promotion practices, and industry regulations. As the primary contact, the E&C Partner operationalizes program elements, ensures effective implementation, and contributes to program updates based on feedback. They support global solutions, advise on healthcare interactions, and foster an ethical culture. Additionally, they participate in E&C Committee meetings, provide strategic input and updates to senior management. The role establishes E&C governance, partnering with business leaders to embed robust E&C principles within the region.


Who you’ll work with

You'll collaborate closely with global Ethics & Compliance (E&C) resources, engaging to address Eastern Europe, Austria & Switzerland’s needs and share best practices. This role involves supporting business stakeholders by offering independent perspectives derived from E&C insights. You'll partner with E&C global resources to deliver comprehensive training across all UCB affiliates, ensuring policy awareness extends to third parties. Additionally, you'll work with colleagues in Eastern Europe, Austria & Switzerland to educate them on the overarching objectives of the Ethics & Compliance Program. This position entails overseeing risk evaluations for outsourced activities and collaborating on audits while staying abreast of regulatory changes in partnership with the legal department and industry trade groups.


What you’ll do

  • Regulatory Implementation: Implement new regulations, policies, and programs for compliance adherence.
  • Conduct Compliance Risk Management: Manage compliance risks for EE/A/CH operations.
  • Global Collaboration: Work with E&C resources, sharing practices, co-creating solutions, and aiding implementation.
  • Stakeholder Guidance: Provide independent advice to business stakeholders leveraging E&C insights.
  • Training and Education: Deliver E&C training, ensuring awareness among all UCB affiliates and third parties.
  • Standard Development and Oversight: Support E&C standards, oversee risk evaluation, and due diligence processes.


Interested? For this role we’re looking for the following education, experience and skills

  • Healthcare regulatory and/or consulting experience of at least 3 years
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulatory standards and preferred experience also with Swiss, Austrian and Eastern Europe regulations
  • Understanding of key business integrity topics in at least some of the countries within Eastern Europe, Austria or Switzerland
  • Hands on experience in operating compliance controls and understanding of industry best practices related to compliance controls
  • Perfectly fluent in English; German and/or additional Eastern Europe language(s) definitely represents a plus
