Young Enterprise Scotland has a rich heritage spanning over 30 years working in partnership with schools to enhance and enrich curriculum learning with personal and employability skills. Young Enterprise Scotland has been inspiring & equipping young people to learn, develop and reach their full potential through enterprise since 1992. Every year they support around 15,000 young people, from all backgrounds, develop their business knowledge, entrepreneurial skills & ultimately become more employable. The dedicated & passionate team of staff are supported by over 250 volunteers from the business community to help them to realise their vision for Scotland to be a place where all young people should be given the opportunity to have a rewarding future in work and life - no matter where they start their journey. Young Enterprise Scotland set high standards whilst being creative in approach. The delivery has widened and diversified across four key areas School Programmes, Pathway Programmes, Financial education and Bridge 2 Business. Whilst growing the offering they always ensure that all activities are fit to meet their Mission whilst adhering to a guiding principle to do this in learning by doing format.

The purpose of this role is to facilitate and support the effective delivery of the Bridge 2 Business Programme currently operating within the FE College sector in Scotland. Supporting the Programme Manager, you will enhance Enterprise learning and teaching for young people across the Tertiary Education sector in Scotland, as well as supporting & developing Enterprise Education activity across the Young Enterprise Scotland portfolio.

Role details:

Position Title: Entrepreneurial Executive

Location: Glasgow region, delivering in-person college & schools
delivery, along with remote working. Travel will be required


Band: Executive

Rate: circa £ 22,500 (FTE) dependant on experience


Reports to: College Delivery Manager

Job Description


  • Confidently deliver and evaluate enterprise education programmes, workshops and courses, in a hybrid approach, in a variety of appropriate educational & institutional settings including primary, secondary, non-mainstream schools & the tertiary education sectors.
  • Business develop communication and nurture relationship channels with agencies, partners, and key
    stakeholders to offer YE Scotland programmes in all educational settings.
  • Foster an entrepreneurial mindset to inspire students, and to participate in enterprise and entrepreneurial
    learning activities.
  • Proactively participate in all suitable marketing, promotions, publicity and PR for all YE Scotland
    programmes.
  • Attend meetings and events as required, ensuring that the exchange of ideas, resources and best practice is
    updated and maintained.
  • Liaise and encourage educators to support, develop and coordinate enterprise delivery, activity and engagement within Fife College, for the Bridge 2 Business programme.
  • Identify expansion opportunities across geographical areas for all YE Scotland Programmes, representing YE Scotland to the highest business standards.
  • Support on projects and deliver on outcomes, that tie in with other similar and appropriate work as agreed with leadership team to benefit YE Scotland.
  • Participate in regular appraisal and reporting with Line Manager, ensuring own continuous professional
    development is regularly reviewed and updated.
  • Market and promote YE Scotland by identifying valuable case studies to raise the profile of the charity and
    attendance at appropriate external events.
  • Complete and update statistical and administrative information timeously and in accordance with YE Scotland, partner and funding requirements.

  • Experience of working with young people in a learning/training environment
  • Experience delivering presentations/training/workshops
  • Experience in using video conferencing software
  • Confident and knowledgeable in delivery of enterprise
    and business topics
  • An understanding of the current curriculum and assessment process, a working knowledge of SQA qualifications is desirable
  • An ability to develop resources for age range 5-30
  • A passion for enterprise education along with an understanding of start up business
  • An understanding of the college landscape (desirable)
  • Awareness of safety and child protection issues (desirable)
  • Awareness of assisted support needs and strategies (desirable)
  • Competent IT skills/Microsoft Office suite
  • Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills
